I am laying out all the details of my little weekend trip to Memphis, Tennessee! I am from Knoxville and have never ventured out to West Tennessee until I started dating my boyfriend Graham who is from Lexington, TN which is a small town about an hour east of Memphis. We planned this little trip because UT Knox was playing University of Memphis and my friend Allie's birthday was on the same day! It was PERFECT!

We stayed with Allie's parents who live in East Memphis, close to downtown which was nice! They're home as gorgeous and comfortable, and they were the kindest hosts. We drove up Friday night after work and drove back to Chattanooga Sunday night. The drive was about 5 1/2 hours but it went by pretty quick with some good music and conversation.

What we A T E

I wish I took a picture of my food but just trust me when I say I ate THE BEST wings I had ever eaten in my life! Graham and I split the half order of BBQ nachos, a half order of jerk wings, and a large side of mac n' cheese and it was perfect! (students get drinks for 50 cents btw)

Wow everything was so clean and and staff was so so friendly! I had the burrito bowl and Graham had the chicken biscuit with honey butter. They were both delicious, but the pancakes were seriously the best pancakes I had ever eaten!! They have all kinds of specialty pancakes and they even had griddles on some tables where you can make your own pancakes which would be really fun for kiddos!

What we D I D

We went to the Memphis vs. UT basketball game which was sold out and it was a blast! I am a Tennessee fan and everyone else in my group was rooting for Memphis, but hey Tennessee came out on top and I am not sure that was a big surprise either hehe

We stopped by the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. It is now a civil rights museum. We did not have time to actually tour, but we checked out the gift shop and chatted with the friendly security officers while we waited, out from the rain, to be picked up. I would defiantly want to tour when I go back and its free for Tennessee residents on

Mondays from 3:00 to close.

We went to the Kappa Delta Headquarters. Allie and I are both KayDees and met through our chapter at UTC. She is your years older than me though so it wasn't until after she graduated that we became friends.

We went to the Pink Palace Museum which was really neat. It was packed with history and it was a cool, cheap museum to tour for a bit. Since we went on a Sunday it was not packed which was nice. (Note: the lattes in the little cafe are actually good!)

Where we S H O P P E D

We went to Indigo, which is literally the cutest boutique I have every seen! I have been following them on Instagram for a while and had to go in person while I was in town. I could have bought the whole store if I could! They sell a good price range of clothes and the staff is very friendly! I bought Allie and I some cute matching keychains for her birthday, but that was it. I am linking their Instagram here because they're worth a follow!

We went to Cotton Row Uniques while we waited on our table at Staks and it was the coolest home/gifts store I have ever been into. When you first walk in you are greeted by a wonderful smell of some of the candles they carry. They also have samples of some very tasty snack mixes and cracker seasonings which were delicious and I obviously bought. The owners were super friendly and told us the neat story behind some of the products they carried. You can tell they were just very passionate about their store and were not just trying to sell us items. It is a must go to in Memphis!

There was so much more I could have done and wanted to, but it was a very short weekend trip so I will definitely have to go back soon!
